Cover of Rejection Resilience, a workbook for young performers made to do together

Every working actor has heard “no” far more than “yes.” I booked my first role at 5, and for every yes after that there were a lot more nos. Nobody sat down with me and named what all those nos do to a kid’s confidence over time.

This workbook is meant to be done together, ideally after an audition rather than in the anxious lead-up to one. It isn’t about convincing your child that rejection doesn’t hurt. It gives you both language for something hard, so it doesn’t turn into something your child thinks they can’t talk about.

What’s inside

  • A note to the parent, to read first
  • What Every Working Actor Knows: why a no is about a role on a day, not about your child
  • My Resilience Page, for your child to fill in in their own words
  • After an Audition: Talk It Through, with gentle questions for the car or over a snack
  • When the No Actually Comes: what to say first, and what to avoid saying first

Who it’s for

Young performers and their parents, together. It applies wherever you live.

What it isn’t

It isn’t therapy. If rejection is affecting your child more than these pages can hold, talk with a counselor, your pediatrician or your family doctor.

Good to know: This workbook is separate from The Complete Stage Parent System and isn’t included in it. Your code is a $10 thank-you toward the Complete System.

What you get

  • Rejection-Resilience.pdf: 7 pages, with fillable pages for you and your child
  • Code near the end of the guide: RESILIENCE10 ($10 off the Complete System, so you pay $139)

Questions

What age is it for?

It’s written for young performers working through it with a parent. For younger kids, you ask the questions out loud and write down their answers.

How do the codes work?

Upgrade codes are printed near the end of each guide (just before the Sources page). A code works only if you already own the guide it’s tied to. Sign in to Gumroad with the email you bought it with, then enter the code at checkout. One code per product.

Questions, or a problem with your file?

These guides are educational. They are not legal, tax or financial advice, and they don’t replace a licensed professional or the rules where you live. Laws, union rules and fees change, so confirm current details with the relevant authority or union before you rely on them. The facts in this edition were checked on 5 October 2026, and the sources are listed at the back of the guide.

The “Example” boxes are illustrative composites of common situations, not stories about specific real families.
